Take attendance on the session register

Open “Groups & attendance” → “Take attendance”. Today’s sessions are listed with their state (“Upcoming”, “Live now”, “Finished”, “Cancelled”) and how many are present. Use the arrows to see another day, then open a session.

Sessions appear only after you press “Generate sessions” on the group’s page.

The four statuses

Each student on the register has four buttons: “Present”, “Late”, “Excused”, “Absent”. The keyboard is faster:

  • Pick a student, then press 1 present, 2 late, 3 excused, 4 absent.
  • Move between students with ↑ and ↓.
  • “All present” marks everyone present at once, and “Rest absent” marks everyone not yet marked as absent.

Changes save automatically and “Saved ✓” shows at the bottom of the register. If the connection drops, “{{n}} unsaved changes” shows and the system retries on its own.

Card scans

Type the student’s code in “Scan the student card or type the code”, or scan their card with a scanner, and they are marked present (or late, according to “Student is late after” in “Center settings” → “Academic”).

A student from another group

When a student attends a session that isn’t their group’s, press “Student from another group” and find them. Before adding them, you are warned about a clash with their own session, or a different grade or subject. The visit is free: no fee is charged for this session. You can take them off the register with “Remove”.

Lesson number and title

Enter the “Lesson no.” (and a “Lesson title” if you like) at the top of the register, or press the suggested number. Sessions with the same number in the same teacher’s groups for the same subject and grade count as one lesson: a student who attended it in another group is not counted absent in their own, and their register shows “Attended lesson … with …”.

Recitation, homework and messages to parents

If marks are switched on, each row has “Recitation” and “Homework” boxes. Once the register is saved, WhatsApp links appear: the absence message for absent students, and the marks message to the parent and to the student. See “WhatsApp messages to parents”.

Cancelled sessions

Attendance cannot be taken on a cancelled session. Cancel or move a session from its own page.
